Could you imagine being so hungry that you can see every little detail of your bones? What if you didn't have enough energy talk, or even walk? This is not a joke, nor a pleasant position to be in. When we think hunger, we say to ourselves, " oh ya, I've been hungry before, I've missed a couple of meals, then my stomach starts to growl, big deal" No, you've got it all wrong! Hello fellow classmates and Miss.Skradski, today I will be talking about world hunger with you.

Poverty is the main cause of hunger in the world. Poverty includes people's lack of resources, such as food, water, proper climate, and even soil fertility. Giving an unequal pay can also lead to poverty. For example, in developing countries, poor people approximately receive $1.25 a day or less. Without the money, you can't buy food, water, proper soil, seeds; pretty much anything to survive. This payment is leading to a decrease in death of human life-l.23 billion people to 982 million in 2004. However, hunger can also lead to poverty. By causing poor health, and even low levels of energy, hunger can lead to even greater poverty by reducing people's ability to work and learn. Therefore, there is a relationship between poverty & hunger, and that one affects the other, like vice versa.

Hunger can have a very powerful effect on your body. Examples are malnutrition, sickness and even death. Malnutrition is a term that indicates a lack of some or all nutrition necessary for human health. One in twelve people worldwide are malnourished, including 160 million children under the age of 5. There are two basic types of malnutrition. The first and most important type is protein-energy malnutrition-the lack of enough protein and food that provides energy, which all of the food groups provide. This type of malnutrition is most likely to be referred to when talking about world hunger. The second type of malnutrition, also very important, is micronutrient deficiency-the lack of enough vitamin and minerals. This is not likely to be referred to world hunger, though it is certainly very important. About 880-920 million people in the world are hungry. Ninety-five percent of these people live in developing countries, which are Africa, Asia minus Russia, China, Taiwan India, Japan, and South Korea, this list can on forever. Around every 3.6 seconds, some dies from hunger. For example, now (wait 3.6 seconds) now (wait 3.6 seconds) now (wait 3.6 seconds) ... and it keeps going. Every year, 10-20 million children die from this crisis, and about 34 million adults die. Throughout the 1990's, more than 100 children died, and about 180 million adults died. In conclusion, hunger can affect the way your body functions properly.

World Hunger

Many communities and societies across the world are plagued with the challenge of hunger. There is quite a huge number of the world population suffering from hunger and the problem does not seem to have a permanent solution. Today, hunger has been experienced all over the world due to drought and famine and bad governance as well. While some of the challenges that we have cannot be controlled, some especially those related to food provision are as a result of human mistakes. To a larger extent, world hunger today is as a result of poor policy and governance. The prioritization of many governments across the world lack very important aspects of managing the welfare of its people. Agriculture has been the main sector supporting lives directly. However, its potential has not fully been exploited in many parts of the world.

Today, more than eight hundred and five million people in the universe do not have sufficient food according to the 2014 reports by the state of food insecurity in the world. It is very alarming to note the many people that have died of poverty and hunger on an annual basis more than the death caused by malaria, AIDS and tuberculosis put together. Poverty and hunger has made very many people vulnerable across the world. Almost 1.2 billion across the globe are suffering from hunger due to their poverty conditions. While global hunger has seen a decreased rate, the issue has still continued to claim lives. It is therefore important to come up with measures aimed at addressing this issue to make people live comfortably.

Food insecurity is a very precarious situation to live with. Hunger is a global issue because one stricken region will definitely draw attention from other parts of the world. Poor countries have been affected by volatile food prices in recent times and have become unstable over some time now. The issue is affected by a number of factors. The competition for food resources is increasing by the day and the balance needs to be created based on such factors. The issue requires an extrapolation of the provision today with a factor rate of population growth. This is the only way through which world hunger will be curbed. As it stands today, more than three-quarters of the world’s poor populace now living in the rural areas rely on agriculture for sustenance. The sector has not produced sufficiently for the masses and artificial farming methods are being sought to provide a solution to the unfailing rains that support agriculture. World hunger has now become a global concern that needs the input of all.
